Cefalexin Oral Suspension is a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic for dogs and cats, prescribed for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible gram-positive and some gram-negative organisms. It is commonly used to treat skin and soft tissue infections (pyoderma), urinary tract infections (UTI), respiratory tract infections, ear infections (otitis), and bone infections. Always complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve. Prescription only — for use under veterinary supervision.
How to Use
Shake well before use. Administer orally or mix with a small amount of food. Standard veterinary dosage: 15–30 mg/kg body weight every 8–12 hours, or as directed by a veterinarian. Duration of treatment varies by condition. Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillins. Store in a cool dry place. Refrigerate after reconstitution and use within 10 days. Keep out of reach of children. Available in 50 ml (50 mg/ml).
