Psyllium husk is a natural soluble fibre that can absorb up to 16 times its own weight in water — swelling in the intestine to support the movement and clearance of sand from the digestive tract. It is one of the only non-invasive recognised treatments for sand accumulation in the gut. Signs your horse may have ingested sand include diarrhoea, weight loss, and abdominal distress — if these occur, consult your veterinarian. Suitable for horses of all ages including young foals. Mix into normal daily feed. Maintenance: 100 g (2 heaped scoops) daily for 7 days, every 4 weeks. In the presence of compaction (on veterinary recommendation): 100 g daily for 21 days or as directed by your veterinarian. Always ensure fresh water is available. Available in 3 kg.
