Royal Canin Hepatic dry dog food is a tailored veterinary diet formulated to support the nutritional needs of adult dogs with liver problems. For dogs that suffer with liver disease — such as chronic liver insufficiency — this formula contains specifically adapted levels of high-quality proteins to help support liver function. Copper accumulation can happen in some liver diseases, and Royal Canin Hepatic's purposely low copper content helps to minimise copper accumulation in your dog's liver. Its high energy content helps to reduce the volume of your dog's meals and decrease their intestinal load while still providing the energy they need. Suitable for dogs with chronic hepatitis associated with liver dysfunction, portosystemic shunt, hepatic encephalopathy, and copper storage disease. Composition
Rice, hydrolysed soya protein isolate (protein source), maize, animal fats, beet pulp, hydrolysed animal proteins (protein source), minerals, soya oil, vegetable fibres, fish oil, fructo-oligosaccharides, algal oil Schizochytrium sp. This is a complete dietetic veterinary feed. Use under veterinary supervision. Feed initially up to 4 months for the support of liver function, and initially up to 6 months for the reduction of copper in the liver. Not suitable for pancreatitis or history of pancreatitis, hyperlipidaemia, acute hepatitis without hepatic encephalopathy, growth, gestation, or lactation. Transition gradually over 7–10 days. Divide the daily intake into several small meals to reduce the postprandial hepatic load. Fresh water should always be available. Store in a cool, dry place.
