Clavaseptin is a first-line antibiotic for dogs and cats, combining amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. The clavulanate component anticipates bacterial resistance mechanisms by blocking beta-lactamase enzymes, making resistant organisms susceptible to the rapid bactericidal effect of amoxicillin. Palatable beige tablets — in palatability studies, 75% of cats and 50% of dogs spontaneously ate the tablet from an empty food bowl within 5 minutes with no human encouragement. Prescription only — for use under veterinary supervision.
How to Use
Administer orally at 12.5 mg/kg body weight (combined amoxicillin/clavulanic acid) twice daily. Dogs — periodontal infections: treat for 7 days. Cats — skin and soft tissue infections: treat for 7–14 days depending on severity; re-evaluate after 7 days and extend if necessary. If no clinical improvement is seen after 3–5 days, discontinue and re-evaluate the case. Do not use in animals with a history of penicillin or cephalosporin hypersensitivity. Not established for use during pregnancy, lactation, or in breeding animals. Do not administer to rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, or chinchillas. Store between 15°C and 25°C, protected from moisture. Prescription only.

Per tablet: Amoxicillin 40 mg (as trihydrate), Clavulanic Acid 10 mg (as potassium salt).
