Virbac Veterinary HPM Weight Loss & Diabetes is a complete and balanced dry food designed for overweight cats, with or without diabetes, to help them reach a healthy weight quickly while preserving lean muscle mass. Low energy density helps cats reach their target weight quickly, with an ideal high-protein/low-carbohydrate ratio to promote fat loss while preserving lean muscle. For diabetic cats, the low glycaemic index and low-carb/high-fibre formula releases energy slowly and steadily, avoiding glucose spikes after eating. Also supports joint health with chondroitin and chitosan, gut health with Lactobacillus acidophilus, and digestion with fructo-oligosaccharides. Not suitable for kittens, pregnant or nursing cats, or cats with chronic kidney disease. This is a veterinary exclusive formula — always follow your veterinarian's nutritional recommendations.
Transition gradually over 7 days when switching diets: Days 1–2 (75% current food + 25% HPM), Days 3–4 (50/50), Days 5–6 (25% current food + 75% HPM), Day 7 onwards (100% HPM). Feed based on target weight, not current weight — consult your vet for the ideal target. Always ensure fresh water is available. Available in 1.5 kg and 7 kg.
